"This Land is Your Land"

"This Land is Your Land" shows that Guthrie feels as if America is freedom ridden, and no one will ever be able to hold him back or diminish his freedom. This can be seen in the lines where Guthrie states, "Nobody living can ever stop me". This portrays his belief that no one can keep him from being free in America. Also in the lines, "As I go walking that freedom highway, nobody living can ever make me turn back." This emphasizes how woven freedom is into his path by using the term "freedom highway". The second part of the line illustrates he wouldn't live any other way. I agree with Gutherie's message that American and its freedom is important.
